S.A.V.E.

It is estimated that approximately 20 Veterans die by suicide daily in the United States. The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center (RJDVAMC) is committed to helping reduce that number. It is estimated, of the 20 Veterans, only 6 of them are connected to VA services. The VA cannot do it alone.

We need the help of the community. Operation S.A.V.E. training was developed to educate the community how to identify a Veteran who is at risk for suicide, and what to do once a Veteran has been identified as being at risk for suicide.

Esther Granados, LSCSW, LCAC, KCGC is the suicide prevention coordinator at the RJDVAMC. Esther is offering free Operation S.A.V.E. training. She is available to come to your business or organization to provide this potentially life-saving training. The training is approximately 1 hour.

Give Esther a call at 316.685.2221 extension 53295 to schedule a training or to get more information.

If you are having suicidal thoughts, please contact the National Crisis Line at 1.800.273.8255, Veterans press 1 or go to your nearest emergency room.
